Tasman Bay Chardonnay

Tasman Bay Chardonnay is known for it's balance and complexity. Á big, rich wine that drinks well by itself and accompanies many types of food.


Vintage Conditions:
The early growing season was dry and warm with a prolonged, dry harvest. These conditions and slow ripening produced good acid balance with mouth filling flavours. Clone: Cl. 15 and Mendoza.

Vinification:
The grapes were crushed into the press without skin contact. The juice was fermented and aged for seven months on new French and American oak and underwent malolactic ferment. All of the wine was allowed to sit on lees to help add depth and complexity.

Colour:
Brilliant lemon yellow.
Bouquet:
Tropical fruit with hints of mealiness, fine oak, vanilla and butteriness.
Palate:
A rich, big wine that has ripe fruit flavours of citrus, pineapple and green apples. A touch of creaminess and vanilla.
